A WORRIED niece has put an urgent appeal for help after her missing uncle’s car was seen in Mullion.
72-year-old David Newby who has been reported missing from his home in the Penzance area was last seen in Penzance in the afternoon on Friday 10 November.
In a post on Facebook his niece Claire Newby says police last recorded his car driving in Pool on November 11 at around 11am.
His car was then seen in the Chypons Road area of Mullion. She said police have been brilliant and have been searching the area with dogs.
She says her uncle suffers from dementia and may be lost and it is vital that he is found.
“Very unusual for him [to be missing],” she said. “Police are amazing and searching all areas of where he could be. It’s been five days. It's deeply concerning.”
She also said there was major concern for his welfare and put in a desperate plea for him to come home.
“This is so out of character he never leaves his beloved cats for longer than a few hours at a time,” she said.
She says the family have contacted hospitals but want people to keep their eyes peeled for him.
A statement issued by the police said: “Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of 72-year-old David Newby, who has been reported missing from the Penzance area.
