THREE Cornwall restaurants have been named in a list of the top 100 restaurants in the UK in 2023, according to reviews.
The list is compiled by OpenTable and is put together using over 1.2 million OpenTable diner reviews with dining metrics including diner ratings, percentage of reservations made in advance, and five-star reviews.
According to OpenTable, the list highlights some of the top spots favoured by diners this year.
The three Cornwall restaurants listed are:
- Cellar Bistro in St Ives
- The Bank at Bude in Bude
- Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling
According to its OpenTable listing: "Cellar Bistro prides itself on friendly and welcoming customer service and a wonderful dining atmosphere.
"The restaurant is cosy and atmospheric with soft lighting and candles, you will feel equally at home in your best bib and tucker or a comfy pair of jeans! We have a lovely bar area for a pre-dinner aperitif.
"We have filled the restaurant with an eclectic collection of upcycled furniture and vintage finds, giving The Cellar Bistro a completely unique décor."
The Cellar Bistro is currently closed for the winter.
The Bank at Bude describes itself as "Bude’s resident cornish tapas bar set alongside the tranquil surroundings of the River Neet in North Cornwall."
According to its OpenTable listing: "We pride ourselves on our relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, providing the perfect accompaniment to food made for interaction and sharing.
"The atmosphere is often described as electric and welcoming to all who dine with us. The Bank is a truly unique dining experience with the quality of food and service at the forefront of everything we do."
The Bank is open on Tuesdays through to Saturdays.
Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling is situated just a mile from St Ives and is described as "offering spectacular views across one of the world's most beautiful coasts, Carbis Bay."
In its OpenTable listing, Ugly Butterfly says it: "Showcases chef Adam Handling’s passion for converting locally-sourced, quality ingredients into beautifully-presented dishes, packed full of flavour.
"Offering an all-day dining experience, the Ugly Butterfly bar uses trims and offcuts from the ingredients used in the restaurant to create delicious drinks and bar snacks.
"This bar menu will illustrate that there is no such thing as food waste, much in the same way that there is no such thing as an Ugly Butterfly."
