A POPULAR street food vendor has announced its time has come to an end and will be closing its kitchen this month.
FEED street food and café in Hayle announced the news on its social media page last night (Thurs, Dec 8) saying that, due to issues that were out of their control the 'challenging' decision had to be made to close their kitchen outside the Old Foundry Chapel.
In the statement, FEED explained that it would remain open until December 18 and that, while it may not be the end of the cafe, its time outside the Old Foundry Chapel had come to an end.
In the statement posted on its social media page, FEED said: "Through lots of challenging decisions and through some issues that are out of our control leave us with the sad decision for Feeds time outside the foundry to come to an end.
"What an incredible nearly four years! You, our staff and your love and support has gotten us through some crazy times, we've tackled COVID, lockdowns, tough financial years and you've been with us every step of the way.
"Popping down, saying hi, buying coffee, eating Philly steaks, supporting burger nights, feast nights, eating in the rain, the early morning coffee trips, the shares on socials, the gorgeous reviews, the sell out days, the votes to get us café of the year 3 Years running and the man down menus. You've been there. Supporting, bringing us smiles, and feeling your love continuously.
"We speak on behalf of us all at Feed that seeing you all and not having our Feed community is going to be very missed but with the sadness brings such smiles as my goodness what a journey it's been."
The cafe was set up almost four years ago and owners Olive and Luke took the chance to praise the FEED team that they said had decided to help them 'go out with a bang.'
The statement continued: "Luke and I do not even know where to begin with this beautiful bunch we call our feed family.
"You are all amazing, even when these talks began you all stood by us and have chosen to go out with a bang when most would jump ship. You've been there in the rain and the sun, some still in shorts in 2 degrees. Your friendship and loyalty is second to none and if I could bottle the team spirit and friendship you all bring to us, work for all would never be a chore.
"We will be here right up till Monday the 18th of December. So please come on down would love to see you and grab your feed favourites.
"This may not be the end of Feed, but for now our journey here has come to an end and we very much look forward to making these last few weeks go out with a bang.
"We love you all."
