The body of a man was found by police in Falmouth yesterday afternoon during the search for 70-year-old Nicholas Odgers. His family have been informed.
Mr Odgers was reported missing by his family on Friday, December 8.
Police launched a manhunt and released a public appeal to members of the public asking if they had seen him as they were becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Today police announced that yesterday afternoon (Saturday, December 9) they had found the body of a man in Falmouth. They did not disclose where. His family has been informed and a formal identification is due to take place later.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
This evening Devon and Cornwall Police issued a statement saying: "The body of a man was located in Falmouth on Saturday afternoon, 9 December.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
"Formal identification is due to take place.
"The family of Nicholas Odgers, 70, from Falmouth, who was reported missing on Friday 8 December, have been made aware."
In the appeal on Friday, police only identified Mr Odgers as Nicholas and said he could possibly have been driving a black VW Up.
They said they were becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
