The inspection team praised Mullion Secondary School for its positive atmosphere and highlighted students' pride in being part of the learning community.
The report specifically noted the school's effectiveness in catering to students’ individual needs and for the support it offers to students who are disadvantaged. The inspectors praised safeguarding arrangements, emphasising the happiness and safety of pupils at school.
The report recognised Mullion School's commitment to inclusivity and positive interactions among pupils, with a focus on clubs, trips, and opportunities in the performing arts. The acknowledgment of good quality teaching across all year groups was highlighted, with a strong emphasis on prioritising reading and fostering pupils' cultural capital.
Ms Jo Birnie said “Governors are very proud of the high quality of teaching and care at Mullion School. The fantastic Ofsted report is a result of the hard work and dedication of the Mullion staff team, and the strong support the school receives from parents and the community.
“Governors would also like to thank Truro and Penwith Academy Trust for the excellent support the school has received since joining the Trust in January.”
This is Mullion Secondary School’s first Ofsted inspection in a considerable period, and it says the positive comments indicate that the school continues to be a great place to learn and succeed.
Headteacher, Mrs Dunleavy said “Mullion School is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, committed to continuous improvement, fostering a culture of kindness, and preparing students for success in a diverse and changing world.
