Environmental scientist Natasha Collings-Costello has been appointed as a new commissioner at Falmouth Harbour.
Ms Collings-Costello brings her 20 years of environmental and ecological experience.
She will aim to shape the current strategy and future prosperity of the harbour.
As managing director at Cornwall Environmental Consultants Ltd, a commercial entity of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Ms Collings-Costello has grown the business to be consistently profitable.
In her role, she has offered high quality environmental advice, taking the consultancy through the application process towards B-Corp accreditation.
Natasha Collings-Costello said: "As a proud Cornish person who is passionate about the environment and natural assets of Cornwall I am very excited to join Falmouth Harbour as a Commissioner.
"I feel I will be able to provide valuable input and support to the leadership team into the future.
"Balancing the needs of people, place and planet should be at the heart of decision making, especially when it's regarding an incredible asset like our Falmouth Harbour."
Ms Collings-Costello’s experience spans across terrestrial, intertidal and marine environments and includes being the environmental manager for the £1 billion Forth Replacement Crossing project.
She was also the project ecologist for the Poole Twin Sails Bridge.
Falmouth Harbour’s chief executive, Miles Carden said: "To have a candidate of Natasha’s calibre to join us - with exactly the broad mix of skills and extensive senior-level experience that we hoped to find, is very exciting.
"I look forward to working with a fellow Cornish business leader."
The appointment follows the departure of Ben Grigg after his six-years of service on the Falmouth Harbour board.
