The Alverton has welcomed back Paul Ricketts as general manager.
It's a return of a familiar face, with Mr Ricketts having managed the Truro-based hotel from 2014 to 2018 before embarking on his travels.
Bringing with him over three decades of hospitality experience, Mr Ricketts has previously served at high-profile establishments that include the Penventon Park Hotel, The Falmouth Hotel, and Retallack Resort.
His primary responsibilities at The Alverton are expected to encompass financial management, budget control, sales and marketing oversight and strategizing for the future.
Moreover, Mr Ricketts will also exert himself towards maintaining a positive workplace environment and uphold the hotel's high quality of service.
Ben Young, managing director at The Cornwall Hotel Collection, the parent group of The Alverton, praised the appointment.
Mr Young said: "It’s brilliant to welcome Paul back to The Alverton.
"His experience is unparalleled, which matched with great leadership skills, means that he’s a great role model for our team.
"I’m looking forward to seeing Paul settle into his new role, as we head towards a busy festive season, and beyond!"
Mr Ricketts, in his comments, revealed his enthusiasm for his new role.
He said: "When Ben Young approached me about returning to The Alverton, it was a no brainer.
"There is something about the hotel that I couldn’t find elsewhere, and I was so happy to see that the special feeling I had five years ago, when I left to go travelling with my son, was still here.
"From the moment I walked back into the historic Georgian mansion, I knew I had made the right decision to return."
Further recognising its broader responsibilities, The Alverton, in conjunction with its sister hotel The Greenbank in Falmouth, recently contributed £8,000 to two local charities, Pendennis Leisure CIO and the Penn An Dre Resident’s Association.
The Alverton, located on the city fringes, is a grade II listed building and has been standing since 1830.
Previously a convent, the hotel now provides relaxed luxury amidst its inspiring architecture and green landscapes.
Incorporating original features within its 53 bedrooms, this hotel ties tradition, romance and comfort together.
