A man has been charged with arson with intent to danger life after petrol was poured on a car and property in St Ives and allegedly set alight.
Simon Gill, 46, of Porthia Close, St Ives appeared at Truro Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 12, following the incident on Sunday, December 10.
It was alleged that he'd poured petrol onto the garden, garden fence of a property and a car and a fire was then allegedly started in the garden.
Gill is charged with arson with intent to endanger life following the fire outside a property in Portia Close at around 7pm on Sunday.
Gill was sent to Truro Crown Court in custody for a plea and trial preparation hearing on January 9 next year.
Following the incident at around 7pm, Devon and Cornwall Police issued a statement saying: "Police were called to a disturbance outside an address in Porthia Close, St Ives, around 7.10pm on Sunday, December 10. Petrol was poured on the garden, garden fence and a car. A fire was then started in the garden.”
