Penzance came out in its droves to enjoy this year's Humphry Davy Lantern Parade.
The popular event, which took place on December 16, pays tribute to local hero and renowned chemist, Sir Humphry Davy.
It features a procession stopping by Mr Davy's statue.
Town crier Philip Northcott and Penzance Town Councillor Stephen Reynolds addressed the gathered masses.
They then invited those in attendance to sing 'Happy birthday dear Humphry'.
The parade is a customary local celebration for Humphry Davy, born December 17, 1778, inventor of the miners safety lamp.
He is also renowned for discovering nine new elements, including magnesium, potassium and calcium.
Mr Davy was then knighted and made a baronet in 1818, before he died in Geneva, Switzerland in 1829.
