A team of recycling workers in Cornwall have gone above and beyond their duties to bring joy to a Porthleven pensioner.
Eileen Richards, 88 who lives in Methleigh Park has been kept entertained by the crew's visits, not just for the collection of her recycling – but for their entertaining dance routines.
However, on Wednesday it wasn’t just the dance routine which put a smile on Eileen’s face, but a box of biscuits given to Eileen by members of the waste recycling crew.
Eileen who has dementia and is in a wheelchair is cared for by a companion in her home and usually spends her time sitting by the window watching the world go by.
Andrea Shannon and Lynda Dawson, Eileen’s daughters are both ‘thrilled’ to hear that the recycling men have been bringing a smile to her face. Andrea told the Packet: “We are both thrilled to hear that they brought mum a box of biscuits today.
“The dance routine not only makes mum laugh and smile, but it brings a smile to our faces as well as her carers.”
Andrea and Lynda both want to thank the crew personally for bringing joy to their mum’s life. On Wednesday, Andrea shared a post on Facebook asking if anyone knew who the entertaining recycling men might be.
The post reads: “Merry Christmas and a HUGE thank you to the wonderful recycling men who not only entertain my mum in Methleigh Parc with their dance routines but have now provided refreshments.
“You are all stars and brighten her day and ours. Thank you so much.
“If anyone knows these lovely people, please share so they can receive the message.”
The Packet has contacted Cornwall Council for more information.
