Forget sleighs or even helicopters – in rural Cornwall Father Christmas arrives by combine harvester!
Pupils at Wendron School were treated to a visit from the man in red, accompanied by one of his elves, on the final day of term last week.
Although not quite all singing and dancing, the combine harvester was as close as it gets, with flashing lights and Christmas music playing as it arrived in the school playground.
It was then revealed that there was even a snow machine onboard, adding to the festive feeling.
Youngsters at Wendron Pre-School, on the same grounds, also came out to see the fun.
The combine was driven to Wendron from Gunwalloe, no doubt causing plenty of festive cheer on the roads.
It even had a police escort for some of the journey, courtesy of PC David Gray and PS Chris Vincent, from Falmouth and Helston Police.
The school has also thanked parents Daniel Thirkill and Luke Wallis for their help in making the visit possible.
After arriving at the school, Father Christmas visited each classroom to hand out gifts.
Every child received a book, with the school saying: “Children have a real love of reading at Wendron.”
Falmouth and Helston Police also posted about the visit on X, formerly Twitter, saying: “PC Dave Gray and PS Chris Vincent were delighted to be able to assist Father Christmas when they were asked to escort him as a very important visitor to Wendron C of E School on Tuesday.
“The children were all very excited to see Father Christmas who arrived on a combine harvester as his reindeer were back at the North Pole resting up for their big flight on Christmas Eve.”
