UPDATE: Police have confirmed that Margaret Derrig, who was missing from the Bodmin area, has been found safe and well. A spokesperson said: "The police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance." 


Police are calling on the public's help to find a missing 81-year-old woman not seen since the early hours of this morning. 

The pensioner has gone missing from her home in Bodmin, with police saying they are growing "increasingly concerned for her welfare." 

Anyone who sees Margaret Derrig, who has gone missing from the Scarletts Well and Berrycombe area of Bodmin, is asked to call 999. 

Her last known whereabouts was her home address on Scarletts Well Road, at 3am today (January 6, 2024). 

The 81-year-old is described as being 5ft 4in tall and was last seen wearing a floral skirt, pink vest top and cardigan, with blue slip on shoes. 

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of an 81-year-old female from Scarletts Well Road, Bodmin.

Margaret's last known whereabouts was her home address on Scarletts Well Road, 0300 hours on 06/01/2024.

"Margaret is described as a white female, 5ft 4 tall, with white short hair.

"She was last seen wearing a pastel flowery skirt, pink coloured vest top a cardigan and blue coloured slip on shoes."
