Young riders living in and around Truro are being invited to give their views on designs for a new skatepark being developed for the new Langarth Garden Village.

As part of the reserved matters application for parks and green spaces at the Garden Village, Cornwall Council has been working with CORMAC and the Langarth Garden Village team to continue with detailed plans for children’s play areas, green gyms, timber walkways and boardwalks, sustainable drainage features, including lakes, rain gardens, community allotments and a community orchard and a skatepark.

Renowned skatepark engineers Maverick, who are responsible for designing and building skateparks in Newquay and St Ives, have been commissioned to develop the skatepark for the Garden Village and are asking local riders for feedback on the designs and help to shape the construction to suit the needs of the local area.

Young people are being invited to complete a short online survey on Maverick’s website - https://www.maverickskateparks.co.uk/langarth explaining what’s important to them in a skatepark.

The website also provides details of concept ideas for the skatepark, which includes three main areas: a Combi bowl, Raised Street area and the flowtrack and Maverick are keen to receive feedback on the draft designs.
