Six houses are planned for former car park site at a tourism hotspot in Cornwall.
The proposed development of six sustainable homes has been submitted to Cornwall Council for the former car park site at Trenwith Burrows, Victory Heights, St Ives.
Following pre-application guidance from Cornwall Council, the proposal aims to minimise visual impact with a linear arrangement of low-key dwellings.
The site is located in an elevated position overlooking St Ives town, within close proximity to the local primary school and leisure centre.
Now described as being redundant and mainly comprising rough, unkempt ground, with security fencing and boulders surrounding the boundaries.
A planning statement says each of the six dwellings is designed with three storeys, set into the ground to create a low scale development.
They would provide family homes with four bedrooms, a living room, lounge and family bathroom.

Is is said there will be "ample space" available for outside amenities, including parking, cycle storage and refuse recycling.
It adds that the homes would meet Cornwall’s objective for zero-carbon and be secured with a principal residency restriction, to avoid them being used as second homes or holiday homes.

All planning applications submitted to the council have to be validated and are available for inspection by the public.
Anyone is also allowed to submit comments about the applications – whether in support or objection.
The majority of applications are decided by planning officers at the council under delegated powers. However, some applications will go before elected councillors who sit on planning committees.
No date has been set for when the planning application above will be determined.
