A bookshop in Fowey has been selected as a regional finalist for The British Book Awards 2024 Independent Bookshop of the Year.
Shrew Books, representing the South West, has joined a list of 77 other independent stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The award, sponsored by book distributor Gardners, celebrates shops that are at the centre of their local communities.
Tom Tivnan, The Bookseller managing editor, said: "This year’s cohort is one of the strongest I have seen in my 15 years judging this award.
"Indies have come out of the pandemic and into a cost-of-living and business rates crises, yet still through innovation and creativity thrive as never before."
The list of regional winners will be announced on March 12.
The ultimate Independent Bookshop of the Year will be revealed during the event being held at Grosvenor House, London on May 13.
