A new brand aiming to promote Newquay to residents and visitors on a national and international scale has been launched.
Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has launched Love Newquay.
The rebrand from Love NQY is the result of a partnership with key contributors including Visit Newquay, Experience Newquay and Cornwall Airport Newquay.
The launch involves the implementation of a digital strategy includes a "consumer-facing" website and investment in social media initiatives and marketing tools, complimented by a PR campaign.
The new website and social media presence will showcase regularly updated itineraries for all visitor demographics, business directories, and a list of upcoming local events.
The brand aims to capture the evolved essence of Newquay, reflecting the blend of local resident and visitor desires.
Mark Warren, Newquay BID and Love NQY manager, took the helm in 2022.
He said: "There is an ongoing positive evolution of Cornwall’s most ‘grown up’ resort and it feels that the time is right for a complete rebrand of Newquay BID and a reharnessing of the potential of the brand ‘Love Newquay’ across multiple markets."
Owners of one of Newquay’s latest restaurants, The Clover Club, Charlie Hester and Callum Philp expressed their excitement about the new branding as they believe it accurately reflects the evolving demographics of Newquay visitors and the town's diverse appeal.
Newquay BID embarked on its journey in 2011 to alter consumer perspectives of the resort and attract various demographics.
Following the creation of the Love NQY social media channels, the original branding, though successful in its portrayal of the evolving resort, has been replaced to move with the times.
Newquay was the most searched for location on Rightmove throughout the pandemic, with boosted investment in the resort by hoteliers, developers and entrepreneurs diversifying its appeal.
The local food scene has also expanded with assorted cafes, coffee shops, eateries and the arrival of renowned chefs.
The resort has attracted entrepreneurs and become a hub for co-working spaces.
The range of activities beyond surfing, from beach runs to silent disco yoga, have reinforced Newquay as a diverse live-work lifestyle choice.
