A Redruth artist is bringing an interactive installation and a series of workshops as part of a weeklong residency at St Ives Library.
Vicki Aimers, a PhD Researcher with Falmouth University based at Krowji, is to enthral attendees with Wastelands to Wonderlands.
The Cornerstone library building will host the event from March 11 to March 16.
Ms Aimers' work typically revolves around creative narratives tied with elements of female social history.
As part of the residency, she will present her interactive cabinet of curiosities, taking inspiration from the ‘still rooms’ of medieval times.
These were vital operational spaces in castles and large houses, used for brewing, distilling, and infusion of a variety of produce.
In addition, Ms Aimers is set to spearhead cost-free drop-in volunteer sessions and a family workshop bookable in advance.
The activities will be centred around the life of Catherine Payton Phillips and her ties to Cornwall, involving creative writing, narrative stitching, and botanical sketching.
Vicki Aimers said: "I’m excited to be working with St Ives Town Council’s Culture team for an artist residency, researching more into the life of Catherine and also the fascinating history of Still Rooms."
She plans to compile visitors' hints and tips about preservation and use of fresh or foraged produce into an artist's book later in the year, titled Notes from the Still Room.
This innovative venture could only materialise due to funding received from Cornwall Council Community Chest.
