An update regarding the temporary location of a new banking hub in Helston has been given by Cash Access UK.
Nearly a year after it was first announced that people working and living in Helston would benefit from a Community Banking Hub, a temporary base for the hub has now been revealed.
The Community Banking Hub in Helston will be temporarily based in the old Barclays building on Coinagehall Street until May when it will move to a permanent base.
A spokesperson from Cash Access UK: “While we will hopefully have some positive news about the permanent hub in the coming weeks, we can confirm that we will be opening a temporary hub in the old Barclay’s branch later this month.
“We have many temporary sites open across the country, which means that while we can focus on opening the permanent hub, customers in the meantime can access everyday services without needing to travel.
“We will issue an announcement soon with full details.”
Plans for a Community Banking Hub were first revealed in 2023 following the closure of the last branch in Helston, Lloyds.
Last month, the Packet reported that the hub had begun recruiting staff in time for it to open.
At the time, Mike Grimmer hub operator shared a Facebook post asking for people who are interested in joining the team to apply. He said: “While preparations are underway, I am seeking to connect with people who share our commitment to exceptional customer service.
“We are currently seeking enthusiastic people to join our team.”
