The Poly is launching a £200,000 fundraising campaign to mark its 200th anniversary in 2033.
Aptly named POLY200, the initiative is designed to support the work of the beloved arts venue, ensuring its survival for future generations.
The funds raised will be used to expand The Poly's range of offers, improve the structure of the building, and continue to offer a diverse cultural programme for communities within Falmouth and wider Cornwall.
In order to reach its £200,000 target, The Poly will be launching a series of fundraising initiatives over the next ten years.
The wider community will also be encouraged to take part.
Community engagement will be solicited in various ways, ranging from participation in POLY200 events, sharing fundraising ideas, leading an event or activity, as well as by joining The Poly as a member, business supporter or patron.
Donations can be made as a one-off or through continued support such as buying tickets or shopping at The Poly Guild.
The Poly’s manager, Ed Cartwright, said: "Despite the challenges of the economic downturn, The Poly continues to provide local people, and visitors, with a place to learn, experience and enjoy – while championing innovation in the arts, science and industry.
"As a small local charity, that receives no regular funding, it’s important we work closely with the community to ensure The Poly’s future.
"POLY200 is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to show their support, as well as their creativity in suggesting ‘funtastic’ ideas, to help raise money!"
To submit your ideas, you can email events@thepoly.org and follow #POLY200 for updates.
