Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is opening its first stores in Cornwall.
Doughnut lovers will be jumping through hoops this week after it was revealed that the iconic US based maker of iced glazed rings is opening its first stores in Cornwall.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is currently advertising for managers of its first stores in the Duchy in Falmouth and Truro.
The advert on Indeed says the company is looking for retail managers on a salary of £26,160 - £29,563 a year for the opening of the store in Market Street, Falmouth in June and St Nicholas Street in Truro, also in June.
The shop in Falmouth will occupy the former Costa Coffee shop at number 35.
The advert asks: “Are you an Original? We are looking for a Retail Store Manager to run our brand-new Krispy Kreme Store opening in Falmouth this June!”
It is looking for someone “inspiring customer wonder by spreading joy to all” building a new team and getting the store ready for opening.
Once the store is fully operational, they will be responsible for the day to day running of it.
The news was met with joy on Falmouth Facebook pages with many people saying it’s what the town needs and others overjoyed they will now be able to get their Krispy Kreme fix in Falmouth.
Richard Wilcox, Executive Director Falmouth BID said: “Falmouth is a dynamic destination with a strong and diverse business community, as recently highlighted in the Sunday Times Best Places to Live annual feature.
"The collaborative, promotional work continues to shine a spotlight on the town as a great place to invest in, its superb cultural offer, year-round festivals, with the crucial Town Team operational support setting it apart.
"We wish them and indeed several other new businesses currently working towards opening, all the very best.”
These will be the first Krispy Kreme Doughnut shops to open in Cornwall, the nearest one being in Drake’s Circus in Plymouth.
The first Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop opened in the US in 1937 and has gone on to be an iconic world-wide brand.
The company prides itself on cooking its doughnuts fresh every day and is famous for its wide range of different glazes. As well as buying in the shop you can also buy the company’s doughnuts online.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts have been asked for a statement on plans for the stores by the Packet and we are waiting for a response.
