The England Coast Path, touted as the world's longest completed coastal path at over 2,700 miles, has a new informational guidebook for its South-West region.
It will be officially unveiled on April 11, 6pm at Books on the Hill, Clevedon, Somerset.
The guidebook, titled ‘The England Coast Path: Book 2 – The South West Coast’, is the second in a series by author and musician Chris Goddard and covers over 650 miles of the path around the south-west of England.
It features extensive information, including hand-drawn maps, route descriptions, as well as additional information, such as public transport, parking, and local history. Every segment of the route is also accompanied by a 'Song for the Day', with an available playlist on Youtube.
The launch event is open to the public and copies of the book cost £15.99.
Author Chris Goddard said: “I walked the first section of the route between Lulworth and Weymouth in 2013, so it has taken over 10 years to complete the first couple of books, though this is because new sections of the route have been slow to open and a pandemic didn’t help.
"I have now walked more than ¾ of the whole route and the final two books of the series, on the North Coasts and East Coast, will follow in 2024/2025.”
