Helston residents have been informed of a day change for rubbish and recycling collections next month.
With Flora Day falling on a Wednesday this year, it coincides with the town’s household waste and recycling collections.
Dancers in the Early Morning Dance, Hal an Tow and Children’s Dance do not need to worry about having to navigate their way around a series of dustbins, however, as this collection has been put back a day.
Due to the town centre road closures in force throughout Flora Day, from 6.30am, that week’s waste collection – as well as recycling collection where scheduled – will instead take place on Thursday, May 9. This applies to Helston only.
The Flora Day Association has announced the day change in a post shared on its Facebook page today (Monday). It reads: “With Helston Flora Day falling on a Wednesday this year, it coincides with the town’s household waste and recycling collections.
“Due to the town centre road closures in force throughout Flora Day, from 6.30am, that week’s waste collection – as well as recycling collection where scheduled – will instead take place on Thursday, May 9 from 7am. This applies to Helston only.”
Details of the change will be sent in the post to around 800 households that will be affected, a week before Flora Day, as a reminder.
