One of Cornwall’s major roads is likely to be closed “for the rest of the day” following a serious crash.
The crash took place at around 12.45pm today (Sunday, April 28) on the A38 at the Glynn Valley, near Bodmin Parkway railway station, and the road has been closed.
The road has been closed in both directions between Glynn Valley Crematorium and the Dobwalls roundabout.
Cornwall Council has issued a warning that the road is expected to be closed for the rest of today.
It said: “We've been informed of a serious road traffic collision on the A38 near Bodmin Parkway railway station.
“The road will likely be closed for the rest of the day and drivers are advised to avoid the area.”
Traffic monitoring system INRIX is reporting: “A38 both ways closed, queueing traffic due to serious accident between Bodmin Parkway station and Trago Mills.
“Congestion to the alternative routes going through Lostwithiel.”
There are unconfirmed reports that Cornwall Air Ambulance was called alongside the South Western Ambulance Service and police.
