More than 1,200 children dressed all in white wound their way through Helston for Flora Day on Wednesday.
The largest dance of the day, it features all four of Helston’s schools – Nansloe, Parc Eglos and St Michael’s primary schools, together with Helston Community College.
This year the lead school for the dance was Parc Eglos – and the honour of being the front set was given to Leila, Noel, Eadie and Leo.
The dance began in Wendron Street at 9.50am, then headed up and down Meneage Street before turning into Church Street and Cross Street.
They then danced around the gardens at Penhillis before progressing down Tanyard Lane to Lady Street, dancing down the pavement of Coinagehall Street.
The dance then circled the Bowling Green before ending at the centre of Coinagehall Street.
Each boy wore a tie in their school colour - navy for the college, red for Parc Eglos, green for Nansloe and royal blue for St Michael's - while the girls wore wreaths of the traditional flowers for their school in their hair.
- The Packet would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who sent in photographs of the Children's Dance after our camera memory card corrupted, losing 2,500 images from the day. A true show of community spirit and we couldn't have done this without you!
