A Cornwall pub that is described as crackling with "boisterous enjoyment" has been named among the top 10 British pubs worth making the effort to travel to.
The Rashleigh Arms in Charlestown was included on a list of '10 great British pubs worth travelling for' from The Telegraph.
Discussing the creation of the list, the writer Will Hawkes said: "The prerequisites for a great British holiday, as I see it, are threefold: attractive scenery, decent weather and at least one great pub.
"Given the rate at which our pubs continue to close, finding the latter is not as easy as it once was, so it’s important to support the really good ones – such as these 10 classics in some of Britain’s most beautiful regions."

What was said about The Rashleigh Arms?
In his summary of the pub, Hawkes wrote: "On a Friday evening the Rashleigh Arms crackles with boisterous enjoyment.
"This stout, white-washed seaside pub is clearly popular with locals young and old, but there’s plenty for visitors, too, from excellent beer made at the nearby St Austell Brewery to 18 nautically named rooms.
"I stayed in Crowsnest (“the best room,” according to the friendly young woman signing me in), right at the front.
"It offers a view all the way down to Charlestown’s Unesco World Heritage harbour, where tall ships’ masts are the crowning glory of a heart-stoppingly gorgeous Georgian scene, featured in 2018 in Poldark."
Additionally, praise was given for all the interesting spots to visit around the pub, including a "delightful pebbly beach" and spots easily reachable by car such as the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
On its website, The Rashleigh Arms describes itself as an "award-winning bed and breakfast".
It adds: "Pop in for a pint of award-winning ale or get cosy with a bite to eat from our delicious menu that champions local produce. Dine inside or soak up the rays from our outdoor area."
The Rashleigh Arms has been fairly well-received by visitors, with it earning a 4/5 score on Tripadvisor from 1,711 reviews and a 4.3/5 score on Google Reviews from 1,911 ratings.
