Helston is set to welcome another independent shop this week, and this time it's all about flapjacks.
An exciting post has been shared this evening from the Cornish Flapjack Shack saying it will open its doors in Helston to the public this Friday (May 24) from 9am.
The shop will be located in the building which was once the home of Italian restaurant Guiseppe's in Wendron Street, before it closed in 2020.
The Cornish Flapjack Shack has recently received two Gold Taste of the West Awards for its Lemon Meringue, and Chocolate and Hazelnut flavored flapjacks.
It has also traded at popular recent events, Porthleven Food Festival and Flora Day, as well as trading at Helston Farmers Market.
However, it will now be setting up at a permanent home - with the business owners saying they have been 'working hard' behind the scenes to ensure the shop will open on Friday.
A post shared on the Cornish Flapjack Shack Facebook page said: "We have been working hard behind the scenes transforming a shop that didn't even have any electricity or running water in to the new Cornish Flapjack Shack Helston!
"If everything goes to plan we should be open this Friday from 9am.
"We will be fully stocked and excited to see you all. Come and find us at 4 Wendron Street Helston."
People have shared their excitement following the announcement.
One person said: "Eeek congratulations! That's lunch sorted when down that way!"
While a local business said it was "great" to see another independent business opening in the town.
