Four people, one of them injured, had to be rescued after they got cut off by the tide late on Sunday evening at Pendennis Point, Falmouth.
Falmouth Coastguard Rescue team were called out at 8:11pm to a report of four people cut off by the tide, one injured at 'Silver Steps'.
Falmouth Lifeboat, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Devon & Cornwall Police were also sent to help.
On scene, team members set up a rope rescue system to enable the casualties to be recovered to the top should the inshore lifeboat (ILB) be unable to safely rescue the casualties.
At the same time, two Coastguard Rescue Officers were kitted up in water rescue gear and deployed with a stretcher to assist the ILB crew with the injured person.
As there was a need for a possible rope rescue, Porthleven Coastguard Team and the head of coastguard resources (Duty full time Coastguard Officer) were also sent.
The injured person was successfully transferred to the ILB and landed at Castle Beach, met by Coastguard Rescue Officers and Ambulance staff for further treatment.
The further casualties were then recovered by the ILB and taken to the Lifeboat Station where they were met by members of the Porthleven Team.
“Thanks to the patient drivers who waited while the road was closed at #Pendennis Point, this was due to ropes going across the road,” said the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue team.
Meanwhile the next day (Monday) the team were called out at 10:57am to help Gyllyngvase Lifeguards with an 82-year-old casualty who'd collapsed on the beach.
Team members assisted Lifeguards until the arrival of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust staff.
