A ST KEVERNE resident has raised concerns regarding ten days of road closures and traffic prohibitions in the village as part of Cornwall Council's Live Labs 2 resurfacing project.

Cornwall Council has announced that between May 29 and June 8, there will be traffic and parking restrictions on the main road into the village from Helston.

The Live Labs 2 Project aims to reduce carbon emissions in highway maintenance by trialling innovative materials and techniques.

While the project aims to reduce carbon emissions through innovative techniques, the resident expressed concerns about a lack of information regarding delays and parking arrangements, particularly for the elderly and vulnerable.

She said:  "There's no mention of how long delays will be, and no parking arrangements have been made to help residents.

"It feels like we've been left in the dark.

“Most people hadn’t realised the full impact of the upcoming works particularly how it will affect the elderly and vulnerable people living in the village, as well as people going to work and the pub.

“No parking has been arranged to help residents; on the final days it appears there will be no access at all.”

Road closures are scheduled for:

Penmenner Estate: Closed for its entire length.

B3293 Between High Street and St Keverne Beacon and the junction of Treskewes Estate.

High Street: Closed for its entire length.

The Square: Closed between the junctions of High Street and Lemon Street.

Parking Restrictions:

A temporary stopping prohibition will be in place for the same roads as listed above. No vehicle will be permitted to stop during the closure period. Vehicles found in contravention of the Order may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and be removed from the site.

The restrictions will be in place from 7.30am to 5pm - weekends included.

An alternative route will be signposted on-site.

Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained.

Blue badge holders are not exempt from these restrictions.

The restrictions will be in place from 0730 to 1700, weekends included
