With the General Election fast approaching, Helston residents have a unique opportunity to engage directly with the candidates vying for their votes.

Local resident Dave Potter is hosting a public forum on Tuesday, June 11 at the Methodist Chapel in Coinagehall Street, Helston.

The doors will open at 7pm, with proceedings beginning at 7.30pm and concluding at 9pm.

This event offers a chance for voters to hear from the candidates seeking to become the next MP for the St Ives constituency and have their questions answered.

The panel will include Derek Thomas (Conservative) and Andrew George (Liberal Democrat), with representatives from other parties also invited. Former head of Helston Community College, Dr Pat McGovern, will chair the event.

"As Helston is the hub town for around 42,000 people, it's only right that events like this are held here," said Dave. "I hope the venue will be packed with enquiring minds!"

The evening will be driven by questions from the floor, giving residents a chance to directly ask their next MP about the issues that matter most to them. Whether it's local concerns, national policies, or anything in between, this is an opportunity for people to have their voices heard.

The event is free to attend. Organisers encourage attendees to arrive early to secure a place as seating is limited.
