Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road collision which left a motorcyclist with potentially “life changing injuries”.

The 67-year-old local motorcyclist was badly injured in the accident at St Colomb Major on Friday May 31 at around 1.20pm.

The man was riding a black NC 750 motorcycle when it was in collision with a blue Ford Transit Custom van on the A3059 at the junction with St Columb Industrial Estate.

The man was treated at the scene by and airlifted to Derriford with what police say are potentially life changing injuries.

An investigation took place at the time but police are now looking for any relevant information or dashcam.

“Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a road traffic collision near St Columb Major at around 1.20pm on Friday 31 May,” said the appeal.

“The collision involved a black Honda NC 750 motorcycle and a blue Ford Transit Custom van and took place on the A3059 at the junction with St Columb Industrial Estate.

“Emergency services were called to the scene and the motorcycle rider, a 67-year-old local man was airlifted to Derriford with what are believed to be life-changing injuries.

“Officers from Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the incident and carried out a detailed investigation of the scene.

“Anyone with any relevant information or dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police via our website or by calling 101 quoting reference log 434 of 31 May.”

The appeal comes after a busy weekend for the emergency services with two motorcyclists being badly injured in collisions.

The first involved a a blue tractor and a motorcycle on the A30 eastbound between the A390 at Chiverton Cross and the A39 at Carland Cross early on Sunday morning.

Another accident involving a motorcyclist and a car was on Chapel Hill, Cambrose near Camborne at around 12.20pm.

Both motorcyclists were seriously injured.
