Falmouth and Penryn Welcome Refugees are hosting an international music event for Refugee Week with free musical workshops for all ages.
The event on Tuesday, June 18 at the Princess Pavilion, Falmouth will include international music from Baraka and Diabel Cissokho with free musical workshops for all ages and evening performances, in one of Cornwall’s most iconic venues.
Four local schools will also be given exclusive workshops by musicians.
During the afternoon there'll be acoustic sets from Val Baker and the Ukrainian Sunflowers plus a dance performance from Shallal.
Delicious food will be on a pay-what-you-can-offer by Feast for Freedom as well as Syrian, Palestinian and Ukrainian home cooked delicacies.
Several craft, produce and community stalls will be on offer for visitors to enjoy including the Cornwall Bike Project and Jumble in a Box clothes and curios stall.
The day itself is free to attend and kicks off at midday with most stalls closing at 6pm. Evening performances start at 7.45pm with tickets on sale for £2, £5 and £10 - available online or on the door.
Welcome chair Jude Munden said: “Cornwall has a long history of providing sanctuary for those fleeing conflict and we’d like to warmly welcome everyone to come together to celebrate the resilience and contributions of our refugee community.”
