Flambards Theme Park has announced the retirement of several iconic and much-loved thrill rides.

In an email sent to season pass holders today (Wednesday) Flambards have revealed that The Thunderbolt, Sky Swinger, SkyForce and The Hornet rides will all be retired and are set to leave the park in due course.

Flambards said the decision was made after ‘many years of faithful’ service and understands the disappointment this news may cause visitors.

“We understand that this news will be disappointing to our pass holders, especially those who loved the thrill rides,” Flambards states in the letter.

“We want to thank everyone who has enjoyed these rides throughout the years and appreciate your understanding as we move forward with these changes.”

To allow for the removal of these rides and park updates, Flambards will be temporarily closed from Monday, June 10. The park will reopen on Monday, July 1 for its summer season, with new updates to be revealed soon.

In recognition of the changes and the disappointment for pass holders, Flambards is offering a free Kart Ride Token for each family member upon their visit this season.

Additionally, pass holders who have visited less than three times since obtaining their pass and have any queries about their passes are entitled to a partial refund. Please contact info@flambards.co.uk for more information.

Following the announcement, many people have shared their thoughts on social media about the upcoming changes.

One person said: “Disgraceful. This was not an overnight decision and you continued to take the local money from their passes without giving us this information until now,” another commented: “We have a large family and chose passes over a family holiday. I know other families will have done the same.”

The Packet has contacted Flambards for a comment.
