Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary of a shop in Helston this week.

Following reports of WH Smith’s being broken into this week, the police are now investigating the incident, and are appealing for people with relevant information to come forward.

Police say that entry into the building was forced, and vapes, cigarettes and cash were stolen.

A Devon and Cornwall Spokesperson said: “Police have been notified following break-ins at a commercial premises in Meneage Street, Helston this week.

“It was reported that entry was forced and vapes, cigarettes and cash were stolen.

“Enquiries are currently ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or via our website quoting 50240137498.”

This is the second shop in Helston to be targeted this week.  

The Packet reported on Wednesday that Mrs K’s Fruit and Veg Shop, also on Meneage Street was broken into at around 9.48pm.

Shaunette Kerley, the popular shop owner, told the Packet that the person involved stole £100 from the charity boxes, including the boxes themselves, and £100 was also taken from the tills.

The perpetrator also went through all the drawers, emptied all the cupboards, and smashed all the cups and everything in the cupboard.
