Police arrest two men following two burglaries and an incident in St Austell where a police officer was left seriously injured after approaching a vehicle on foot.
Detectives investigating reports of the three incidents in St Austell on the evening of Thursday, June 6, have arrested two men.
Officers were first called to a petrol station on Southbourne Road where a burglary had been reported.
A short time later, they received a report of burglary at a property in the Roche area and an officer was injured by a vehicle on Penwinnick Road as he made enquiries. He was taken to hospital and later released after suffering serious arm injuries.
Following a public appeal a vehicle officers that were seeking, was located in the St Austell area on Saturday, June 8.
A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of four counts of burglary and one count of Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both men have been released on police bail until September while enquiries are ongoing.
