A renowned impersonator will bring his heartwarming tribute to his good friend Jethro to Cornwall this weekend.

Mike Osman, who has more than 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry was a close friend of Jethro before he died in 2021.

The pair had a unique bond built on laughter and storytelling, with Jethro often sharing his own jokes for Mike to use in his shows.

When the idea for a tribute tour sparked, Mike sought the blessing of Jethro’s partner of 38 years, Jenny who was overjoyed that Mike was keeping Jethro’s legacy alive.

As a special remark, Jenny gifted Mike four of Jethro’s iconic ties for him to wear during his tour which comes to the Regal Theatre in Redruth this Sunday (June 16). 

“Jethro will be there with me during the show, his DNA will be those ties that I will be wearing,” Mike told the Packet. 

Mike, with a heavy heart but unwavering determination, is bringing Jethro's iconic jokes and stories to life on stage. He knows the weight of the responsibility, admitting, "Jethro will be looking down on me,” but he's confident that the audience will feel the love and respect he holds for his friend.

He hopes to see the crowd participate in the signature “rock with laughter” movement, a familiar tradition from Jethro’s shows where audiences would rock forward and back in response to his most hilarious jokes.

“Part of the reason I want to do it is because I want to give his new fans who may have recently seen his acts on YouTube the chance to see some of his jokes and stories told live.

“It’s my sheer pleasure to keep his legacy alive.”

Mike, who has been all over the country, and now resides in Southhampton shared how much he loves Cornwall, saying it was one of his favourite places.

“I love Cornwall,” he said.

“Everywhere you turn, you are greeted with beautiful views and a big open sky.”

He also said that Watergate Bay in Newquay is one of his favourite places to go when he visits the Duchy.

Mike Osman’s Jethro Tribute Show will be heading to The Regal Theatre in Redruth on Sunday, June 16 from 8pm.
