The funeral date of popular former teacher Chris Tomlinson who died unexpectedly has been announced.
The former Penryn College teacher, postie, “huge lover of music” and radio presenter who has died unexpectedly following an operation.
Mr Tomlinson’s funeral will take place 11am at King Charles church Falmouth on Wednesday, July 17, not 11.30am as we were originally informed.
Mr Tomlinson dedicated 17 years of his life to the school as an IT and Business teacher, and was a hugely proud and popular Head of House for Killigrew.
He is fondly remembered by staff, students and many other members of the local community for his caring, warm nature and positive outlook on life.
Chris Tomlinson or ‘Tom’ to those close to him was head of Killigrew before stepping back in 2020 for medical reasons.
He was also a stalwart for the local community radio station Source FM, having co-hosted the show “Lost In Space” and “Songs from the Back Room” for many years- finally a place to subject listeners to his eclectic choices.
In recent years Chris continued to serve the community through food delivery to the elderly and working on the postal rounds for the Royal Mail.
He leaves behind his wife Rachel; his four sons; his sisters Angela and Jo; his friends and his students; and his mischievous dog Derek.
