Jenn’s Diner in Redruth has announced it is closing it doors citing extortionate rent and bills, food costs and low footfall.
Jenn’s Diner in Redruth made the announcement in a Facebook post last night saying it was with a “heavy heart” it had decided the business had come to the “end of the road”
The American themed diner at Gilberts Coombe, Tolgus Place, Redruth said it served its last meal on Father’s Day after opening five years ago.
Posting on their Facebook page the owners said with a rent of over £4,000 a month plus all the other costs it was proving impossible to go on.
“Unfortunately Jenn’s Diner has reached the end of the road,” they said. “It’s with a heavy heart that we close the doors permanently, having served our last customers on Father’s Day.
“It has been a very interesting five years of ownership, with many lows, but thankfully some highs too.
“Why are we closing you may ask? Well, our rent is over £4000 per month, our electricity bills are extortionate, food costs are ridiculous, and footfall in a seasonal town is down as low as it has been for many, many years. So that, in part, is why we are closing down.
“We want to take this moment to thank all of our hard working and dedicated staff, both past and present, you’ve been amazing!
“And to our customers, without whom we would have been posting this years ago, thank you to you all.”
