Police have released a further image of a man who is wanted in connection to an armed robbery in Penzance yesterday (June 20).

Officers were called at 10.18am to Jelbert Way, outside Sainsburys, where it was reported that a man in possession of a knife had approached the rear of a security van and taken bags of cash from the security guard.

He then fled the scene on a moped.

Police initially issued two images but said they now have a further clearer image of the man they are seeking.

He is described as being over 6ft tall and was wearing a black North Face coat, black trousers, a black face covering and a black bike helmet.

The moped was described as small and black and a red and black storage box on the rear.

Officers carried out enquiries throughout yestarday and those continued into the evening.

Police said they were keen to hear from anyone who saw the man or knows who he is and anyone who has seen or knows the location of the moped.

They said to not approach the man but call police immediately.

A spokesperson added: "We’d also like to hear from anyone who was in the area and has dash cam footage or witnessed the incident."

People have been asked not to speculate on social media but report any relevant information to police.
