A 39-year-old woman has been released on bail following a serious collision that left a pedestrian with suspected life-changing leg injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a white panel van on the access road to Valley View Touring Park in Blackwater, near Truro.

The incident happened at around 3.50pm on Saturday, June 29. A woman was taken to Derriford Hospital with what are believed to be life-changing leg injuries.

A 39-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and has since been released on bail.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the location at around 3.50pm on Saturday 29 June after it was reported that a collision had occurred involving a white panel van and a pedestrian.

“As a result of the collision, a woman was taken to Derriford Hospital. It is believed she may have suffered life-changing leg injuries.

“A 39-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and has since been released on police bail.

“The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene. Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public and residents of the site for their patience whilst the road was closed.
