A woman has been banned from entering shops in the Camborne and Redruth area for three years as well as from walking into oncoming traffic.

Debbie Miners, 41, of Gurnards House, Back Lane West, Redruth pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive word or behaviour when she appeared at Truro Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 3.

It was said in court that on Sunday, May 5 at 5 Fore Street, Redruth, Miners used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress.

Miners was given a three year criminal behaviour order that bans her from acting in a manner that causes any reasonable person to fear for their safety or for the safety of another, including walking into oncoming traffic, remaining in any commercial premises if asked to leave by a member of staff, manager, owner, security guard or Community Safety Accredited Scheme Officer as well as entering any shop, supermarket, or any other commercial premises from which she knows she is banned.

Specifically not to enter Cancer Research, Redruth; Morrisons Daily, Redruth; Morrisons, Pool; Bet Fred, Redruth; Boots, Fore Street, Redruth; Chi Winder, Pool and Tastyliscious Treats, Trelowarren Street, Camborne.

She was also fined £160 and ordered to pay £250 in costs.

No evidence was offered for a charge of possession of Cannabis resin and a charge of theft of a 50p watch strap belonging to Cancer Research Charity shop in Fore Street Redruth. Both charges were dismissed.

There was no separate penalty for a plea of guilty to theft from a shop for stealing a yoghurt drink worth £2.75 from Morrisons daily, East End, Redruth on May 7.
