Trebah in Cornwall one of the top ten gardens in the world

Trebah Garden, on the Helford River in Cornwall, was named joint 8th in the list.

Based on visitor reviews, including Tripadvisor, Trebah was placed alongside the National Orchid Garden in Singapore, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden in Hawaii and Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, USA also in 8th place.

Each of them enjoy 96.5 per cent of their reviews being four stars or higher.

Only two other British gardens beat Trebah - Bodnant and Plas-Cadnant, both in Wales.

The list was compiled by travel insurance experts insureandgo.com

The Trebah team said it was “delighted” to make the list, announcing that it had also been recognised in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2024.

The award honours businesses that consistently earn great reviews, placing them among the top ten per cent of listings around the world on Tripadvisor.

He went on to thank the team at Trebah for making both recognitions possible, adding: “I would like to recognise the fantastic team of staff and volunteers at Trebah for all their efforts in caring for this special garden and providing exemplary service to every visitor we welcome.

“We are delighted to be acknowledged as a favourite amongst travellers over the past year.”

Trebah’s Travellers’ Choice Award was based on feedback left in reviews on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period.

It included reviews such as “Trebah was the highlight of my trip. I enjoyed Tresco and Heligan but Trebah was the magnificent best” and “Certainly a day out not to be missed.”
