A gin makers in Cornwall has won four awards at a global competition.

Padstow Distilling took home gold, silver, and two bronze at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).

Specialising in crafting spirits with home-grown and local ingredients on the North Cornwall coast, Padstow Distilling has been gathering attention for its innovative and quality drinks.

Founder David McWilliams and his team produce their spirits using Cornish barley grown just one mile from the distillery.

This small-batch production takes three weeks per batch, guaranteeing the finest provenance in each bottle.

Mr McWilliams said: "In the spirits world, few competitions are as incisive as the IWSC - and I'm really very pleased with the results, not only because it confirms all our hard work has been worthwhile, but also because it shows the wider world how we can stand with the giants in the business.

"It's the start of an exciting journey for us: each time we make a little improvement here or there in our recipes and methods, we can imagine our scores nudging ever so slightly higher, and that's great motivation to do better each time.

"Thank you to all the judges at the IWSC for recognising our spirits!"

Recognition from the IWSC, which celebrates the greatest wines and spirits globally, highlights this regional distillery's triumph on the world stage.

Wins included a Gold award for Padstow Vodka, Gun Point, Silver for Padstow Gin, St George’s Well and Bronze for both Padstow Rose Gin, Hawker’s Cove and Navy Strength Gin, Stepper Point.
