If you’ve ever wanted to own your very own piece of Cornwall then July might be your month.
A variety of patches of land are going up for auction in July – from housing development plots to agricultural land, and a piece with a starting guide price of just £500.
They include development land with planning permission for 14 houses near Helston, which is heading to auction with a £275,000 freehold price guide.
The site off Kei-Wei, in Rinsey Lane at Ashton, extends to a total of 0.67 hectares (1.68 acres).
It is among 165 lots listed in the latest auction being held by Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers.
Plans for the development show six detached homes and eight semi-detached houses, all with gardens and parking.
Senior auction appraiser Katie Semmens said: “This is an exciting development opportunity in a good residential area.
“Ashton is close to Praa Sands, with its long sandy beach, and Porthleven, known for its picturesque harbour.
“We expect keen interest from developers with a ready-made scheme for building out in an area where demand for housing remains strong.”
Bidders can also stake their claim for land going under the hammer in the Redruth area.
Two parcels are on offer next to Penhalurick Farm, at Penhalvean, on the outskirts of Stithians.
The largest measures 27 acres (10.93 hectares) and has a freehold guide price of £200,000 plus. It is divided into two fields.
Measuring 13.5 acres (5.49 hectares), the second parcel has a freehold guide of £165,000 plus.
Katie said: “These parcels of agricultural land are expected to appeal to those with farming interests as well as equine and amenity users.
“They may also attract attention from those who simply wish to acquire their own piece of the lovely Cornish countryside.”The parcels are being auctioned jointly with MAP Estate Agents of Redruth.
In Par, a freehold parcel of woodland near Uplands, The Mount, has a guide of £15,000-plus. In the centre of a residential area, it measures 1.82 acres (0.73 hectares).
It is being auctioned jointly with KLP Kitchener Land and Planning of Topsham.
And in Gunnislake, Cornwall Council has instructed the auction of overgrown land starting at just £500.
The parcel – measuring 0.01 hectares (0.03 acres) ¬– is located next to Gunnislake Health Centre in The Orchard.
Auctioneer David Henwood said: “Occasionally these type of parcels of land come for auction.
“They may offer appeal to a number of different purchasers, such as nearby residents. This parcel, although overgrown, is on a corner where some may envisage some form of use, subject to all the necessary consents.”
Clive Emson Auctioneers holds auctions eight times a year. Bidding for the current auction, the fifth of the year, goes live on Monday, July 22 and ends on Wednesday, July 24.
