Year 11 students from Helston Community College and Mullion School have bid farewell to their time at secondary school with separate celebrations at two iconic Falmouth Hotels.
Helston Community College students gathered at Falmouth Hotel for their leaver's prom last week, while Mullion School students partied the night away at the Penmorvah Hotel in Budock Water.
Students from both schools seized the opportunity from both schools to arrive at their proms in style. One young lady from Mullion School even arrived in a New Holland tractor.
Siobhan Barnes, head of year 11 at Helston Community College told the Packet that the students and staff had a great time and shared her highlight from the evening. She said: “A group of our male students, spontaneously started singing Cornish folk music.
“It wasn’t something we had planned, they just started singing folk songs together. It was incredible to see.”
Mullion School have also shared a post on its Facebook page about its prom celebrations. The post reads: “We had an incredibly wonderful Prom night for our Year 11 students at the Penmorvah Hotel.
“It was a memorable evening filled with joy, laughter, and celebration as we bid farewell to an amazing group of students. Congratulations to Flight 43—you've made us all very proud, and we wish you the best in your future.”
