Drivers are being warned of likely delays in Helston next week as one of the main roads out of the town will close for resurfacing works.
Motorists are being advised to ‘plan ahead’ as the B3297, Falmouth Road, has a road closure and parking restriction notice.
The Cornwall Council website states that delays are likely. The order comes into place on Monday, July 22, although a sign on the road itself says work is due to begin on Wednesday, July 24, when a road closure will be in place.
The closure will affect the entire stretch of road from the roundabout by Frasers Fish and Chip Shop to the 'Helston relief road' roundabout, just down from the Park and Daras housing estate. This means no traffic will be permitted through the area.
Information from Cornwall Council states that the road closure will last for between one and three days, with a parking restriction in place.
Following the completion of the surface dressing, a temporary speed restriction will be in place for the duration of the remaining work.
The traffic order - giving contractors permission to work on that stretch of road when required - actually runs until Sunday, August 11 although work is expected to be completed before then.
Cornwall Council urges drivers to plan their journeys in advance and allow for potential delays. Residents are also asked to ensure vehicles are parked outside the designated clearway area to avoid any obstructions.
