Children from two primary schools near Helston have been sharing an important message with drivers this week: '20 is Plenty'.

Breage Parish Council has been working with Vision Zero South West on a project of the same name.

This has been rolled out across Cornwall and Devon as part of a multi-agency effort to tackle road injuries.

Breage Parish Council recently provided hi vis jackets to pupils at Godolphin Primary School and teachers at Breage C of E Primary School, to help keep them more visible - and safer - on the roads.

Alongside these measures, children received 'Be Bright Be Safe' book bag stickers and attended road safety sessions with Helston police community support officer Julia Berry.

Signs have also been appearing across the parish, financed by Breage Parish Council, as a reminder to motorists to reduce speeds.

Diana Thomas, vice chair of Breage Parish Council, explained: "You may have spotted numerous ‘20 is Plenty’ road signs around our parish.

"These have been provided by Breage Parish Council with a view to helping motorists understand that, particularly where people are, speeds should be cut to 20mph."
