Police have now located the man they wish to speak with in relation to this assault. 

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police have identified a man they wish to speak to in connection with an assault in Falmouth on 15 June.

"It follows a photo appeal issued by the force on 26 July.

"Officers would like to thank members of the public for sharing the appeal."


Police are looking for a man who allegedly kicked another man when he was on the ground after shoulder barging him during the during the Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival.

The assault started after two men were approached by another man near Event Square in Grove Place during the Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival at 1.15pm on Saturday, June 15.

Two men were approached by another man and a discussion ensued. During the discussion the man who had approached the two other men shoulder barged one of them to the ground and started to kick them while they lay there.

Police have issued a picture of a young man wearing a red bandana over their face they want to speak to in connection of he assault photographed at the scene.

They say he may be able to help them with their enquiries.

A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police said:  "Police are seeking the public’s help to identify this man in relation to an assault in Falmouth.

"The incident took place at around 1.15pm on Saturday 15 June at Grove Place, during the town’s Sea Shanty festival.

It was reported that three men engaged in a discussion before an altercation between two of the men took place.

During the altercation the victim was shoulder barged to the ground and then kicked.

Officers investigating would like to speak to the man pictured as it is believed he may be able to assist with their enquiries.
