Food enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the Truro Food Festival, anticipating the tantalising line up of chefs and culinary activities.

The festival plans, unveiled this week, promise a variety of established and emerging chefs showcasing diverse culinary skills and influences.

The five-day gastronomic fiesta is set to light up Lemon Quay between September 25 and September 29.

Acclaimed chefs Jude Kereama, Charlie Walters and Kate Attlee are some of the big names taking part. Kereama, renowned for his Asia-Pacific culinary style, owns notable eateries Kota and Kota Kai in Porthleven.

Walters, a finalist on Masterchef: The Professionals, and Attlee, a former Masterchef participant, bring their distinctive cooking styles, adding to the festival's eclectic mix of food offerings.

Ms Attlee said: "I'm thrilled to be involved in this new incarnation of Truro Food Festival and I'm enjoying planning what to cook in front of the audience in the Chef's Theatre. Truro is where it all started for me with the opening of my very first Sabzi, so I'm looking forward to sharing a signature dish or two there."

In addition to this trio, Ben Tunnicliffe of The Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn, Ben Martin and Jasmine Sharma of Daaku, Rupert Cooper of Philleigh Way and Ben Quinn of Canteen Cornwall will also showcase their culinary expertise.

The festival will include a Chef's Theatre where attendees can witness everything from the creation of classic seafood dishes to food inspired by Thai, Indian, and Middle Eastern cuisine, all using local Cornish ingredients.

Skinner's Brewery will also host daily 'afterparty' events, including a silent disco, beer tasting, and BBQ.

Organiser Stewart Girvan said: "The full festival line-up is almost in place now, with some amazing street food vendors and brilliant Cornish brands in the Producers Village, as well as the epic programme in the Chef’s Theatre.

"There’ll also be live music, entertainment, and family activities to complete the offering. We’re so excited and will be sharing more details in due course, but I highly recommend food lovers get the dates firmly in their diaries now."
