Years in the making, local business Uneeka is set to open the doors of its newest permanent lifestyle store in Falmouth tomorrow (August 9), just in time for Falmouth Week.

The new store on Market Street will sell lifestyle goods, some home furnishings and include a courtyard garden.

The seaside town's annual celebrations featuring regattas and family events, will see over 100k locals and tourists flocking the streets.

Business owner Jodi Skelton told the Packet ‘the team have all been hands on deck to help open the new store in time for this "legendary" week.

Established in 2004, the independent, family run business has been offering ethical goods for the home, with much focus on provenance:

"We have been working very closely with our suppliers from the outset, something that was an essential part of our vision for the business,’ said Jodi.

Growing from strength to strength, the much loved retailer is now opening its third permanent store -  with a lifestyle store complete with cafe and yoga studio already  in Boscawen Street, Truro and a comprehensive home store with lighting and furnishings on City Road.

The latest Falmouth Store will accommodate both lifestyle goods, some home furnishings and a courtyard garden at 25 Market Street, a stone's throw away from Church Street car park.

From trinkets to bags, earrings to mirrors, quilts to sofas, Uneeka provides something for everyone; Suppliers range from Cornish to small independents in India with one off pieces as well as firm everyday giftable favourites.

A small Uneeka store has been part of Falmouth for four years, however the new store is bigger and better, promising a wholesome immersing shopping experience in ethical and sustainable lifestyle goods.

‘It’s taken three years to be able to carry out the work needed for the new building. We are waiting for the upstairs to have the final sign off and we’ll be able to introduce more homewares on the  first floor. A labor of love, we can't wait to welcome the community and tourists alike,’ said Jodi.

The creative team has crafted a spin the wheel style offer for the soft launch weekend with a chance for people to pop in to win some prizes.

Uneeka can also now host events, workshops and private parties in their cafe, yoga and home store spaces.

An earlier version of this story said there would be a cafe and yoga studio included. This actually referred to the Truro city centre shop and NOT the Falmouth one.
