Police have revealed the reason behind the large emergency services presence at a Helston supermarket on Wednesday evening.
Officers, along with ambulance and fire crews were called to Tesco supermarket at around 8.40pm on Wednesday (August 7), following concerns for the welfare of a man who had been found in bushes at a secluded area of Tesco car park.
The man, in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
However, officers are now undertaking enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death, which is being treated as unexplained.
Police say that the death is not believed to be suspicious.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the scene at 8.40pm on August 7th, following concerns for the man's welfare. Ambulance and fire services also attended.
“The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained, although police do not believe it to be suspicious at this time.
“Officers are undertaking enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police, quoting log number 0868 of July 7th.”
